The Victor Centers for Jewish Genetic Diseases - Philadelphia

The Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases opened at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 2002. The center was founded by Lois B. Victor, a mother who lost two daughters to Familial Dysautonomia. Through the generosity of Lois Victor and other funders, the Victor Center has screened over 2,000 young adults since 2002.

The Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases is part of the Division of Genetics at Albert Einstein Medical Center. The Division of Genetics at Einstein is staffed by a medical geneticist and four genetic counselors. The genetics team sees patients for all aspects of clinical genetics evaluations, including pediatric and adult genetics evaluations, prenatal genetic counseling, cancer risk assessment, and Jewish genetic disease screening. Additionally, the Division maintains a national registry for Anophthalmia/Microphthalmia, two rare eye disorders, and conducts ongoing research and clinical evaluations for affected individuals and their families.
