We offer genetic counseling and screening for Jewish genetic diseases (JGDs) and work in partnership with our local Philadelphia healthcare professionals, clergy, philanthropists, organizations and community to create awareness about the need to be screened for the 19 preventable genetic diseases with a 1 in 4 carrier rate in Jews. The Victor Center was was founded by Lois B. Victor, a mother who lost two daughters to Familial Dysautonomia and has made it her life’s work to ensure that no other parent would have to endure the heartache of an affected child.

The Victor Center Philadelphia host monthly screenings at Moss Rehab and community screenings throughout the year. Please check out our calendar for information.

If you would like to get involved in planning an awareness and screening program at your synagogue, college campus or community organization, please contact Joshua Stone at

If you would like to speak with someone about genetic diseases, please contact Faye Shapiro, MS, CGC, Genetic Counselor at
